A few words about us

Let us introduce ourselves

We are a small coffee shop and bakery with a menu that has a strong emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. We bake all our goods in house and in small batches and partner with other Los Angeles based artisanal food companies to bring you the highest caliber of product in the market.

Our kitchen also caters to a wide range of local companies, providing them with carefully crafted food for office lunches,meetings, photo shoots and special events, as well as with tasteful gift boxes to thank their clients.

Great food, great coffee, great people

How it all came to be…

Uplifters owner Elisabet Spaulding spent a good portion of her teenage years hanging out in the grand old coffee houses of her native Barcelona. After moving to Los Angeles, she started to re-imagine a coffee shop that embraced the California spirit while preserving a core European identity. A trained pastry chef, she focused on creating a simple menu of small-batch baked goods, salads and sandwiches and partnered with Stumptown Coffee Roasters to offer a full line of coffee drinks.

Uplifters Kitchen has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. All our suppliers are based in Southern California and we are in the process of getting a Green Business Certification by the City of Santa Monica through Sustainable Works.

    Made to order and topped with brown sugar, cinnamon, almonds and golden raisins. Please allow 10-12 minutes to prepare.
  • Chia seed pudding
    Made with almond milk and topped with blueberries, pecans and coconut, this vegan breakfast will energize you for hours.
  • Uplifters granola
    House made granola with almonds, pecans and coconut. Served with your choice of whole milk, 2% milk, almond milk or soy milk.
  • Add yogurt and seasonal fruit compote to your granola
